Zonta Club of Pontiac-North Oakland, is one of over 1,200 clubs of Zonta International, a worldwide service organization. Founded in 1919 in Buffalo, New York, Zonta takes its name from the Lakota Sioux Indian word meaning "honest and trustworthy." Zontians volunteer their time, talents and energy to local and international service projects that are designed to advance the status of women.

Zonta gives you the chance to be a part of something much larger than yourself...
Zonta allows you to give of yourself to others, to actively participate in the selection of service projects to help your community, and to improve the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women worldwide.

Awareness Program - September 29, 2016
Learn More
For more than a decade, The Zonta Club of Pontiac North-Oakland has participated in the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.  Every Making Strides event is an inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor breast cancer survivors, raise awareness about what we can do to reduce breast cancer risk, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease through research, information and services, and access to mammograms for women who need them.

This year's Oakland County event took place on October 24 at the Rochester Municipal Park.  Several members walked the 5k route.  The Zonta Club of Pontiac North-Oakland raised $1,000 for the American Cancer Society.
