Our Mission

Zonta International is a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions working together to advance the status of women. Members of the Zonta Club of Petoskey Area bring this mission home to the local level.

Zonta Club of Petoskey
, is one of over 1,200 clubs of Zonta International, a worldwide service organization.  Founded in 1919 in Buffalo, New York, Zonta takes its name from the Lakota Sioux Indian word meaning "honest and trustworthy."  Zontians volunteer their time, talents and energy to local and international service projects that are designed to advance the status of women.

The Zonta Club of Petoskey Fashion Show, a November tradition for hundreds of residents and their guests, was held on Saturday, November 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Ovation Hall at Odawa Casino Resort. Each year, our committee works hard to present an even bigger and better show and hopes to host more than 350 individuals for an afternoon of fun, fashion, fellowship and fundraising.

The Fashion Show highlighted the latest fall and winter fashions from more than 30 retailers in the Petoskey area and feature a silent auction, gift basket raffle and an elegant lunch.

Last year, we raised more than $25,000 to support the programs of and grants from Zonta. Because of the generosity of sponsors like you, Zonta Club of the Petoskey Area was able to provide $16,000 in support to area organizations that work to improve the status of women and girls.
