What is Zonta

Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. Nearly 33,000 members belong to more than 1,200 Zonta Clubs in 67 countries and geographic areas. The first Zonta club was founded in Buffalo, New York in 1919. The objectives of Zonta are to provide service at the global and local level. Today, Zonta International continues to be on the front lines of the fight for women's equal rights through local and global projects that promote economic self-sufficiency, political equality, access to education and health, and the prevention of violence against women. Each year, Zontians dedicate hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours and millions of dollars.

The Zonta Club of Mt. Pleasant was chartered on October 1, 1952 with 14 members. Six more members were added before the Charter dinner on November 15, 1952. Zonta Club of Mt Pleasant is located in the United States and is a division of Zonta International's District 15, Area 2.

Applefest

Applefest is the major fundraiser for the Zonta Club of Mt. Pleasant and occurs the first Saturday in October. Starting in October, 2008 Applefest will be at Papa's Pumpkin Patch, 3909 South Summerton Rd, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan 48858. find out more
