What We Do
The Zonta Club of Gaylord Area supplies annual scholarships to Graduating High School Seniors in Otsego County, a local Young Women in Public Affairs Award, Inland Seas Young Women in Science Scholarship, plus an annual scholarship through the Women's Resource Center to support a survivor returning to school.  We also act as a funnel to the Zonta International Young Women in Public Affairs Award, Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship and the Amelia Earhart Fellowship.

The Zonta Club of Gaylord Area seeks to further our mission of empowering women through service and advocacy.  Our local projects are ever evolving, however the Hospital Book Bag Project remains our steadfast constant.  This program puts gift bags in the hands of all new mothers at Otsego Memorial Hospital.  Those bags contain some board books for infants with literature on the importance of reading to children.  It also contains resources such as a child development wheel, baby's first library card, local resources for new moms, and more.  See brochure below for more information.

Club Advocacy
"On 25 November, The Zonta Club of Gaylord Area fought high winds, cold temperatures and snow to honor the United Nations' International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women by assembling a display on the courthouse lawn.  128 flags were solemnly placed.  Each flag representing one of the reported individual Otsego County victims of domestic abuse or rape from this past year."
