Charlevoix the Beautiful!
Charlevoix sits on three lakes: Lake Michigan, Lake Charlevoix, and Round Lake. The population of the surrounding area is about 8,500, which swells to an estimated 30,000 in the summer season. Charlevoix is populated by a blend of long time summer resorters and local residents who may work in the town's industrial park or may have descended from the early commercial fishermen who settled in the area.
In addition to Charlevoix's natural beauty, the area offers excellent shopping, dining, boating, sport fishing and special events that make this small northern Michigan community truly "Charlevoix the Beautiful".

Zonta International seeks to advance the status of women worldwide by improving the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women at the global and local levels through service and advocacy.
Founded in 1919 in Buffalo, New York, USA, Zonta takes its name from the Lakota Sioux Indian word meaning "honest and trustworthy". Zontians volunteer their time, talents and energy to local and international service projects that are designed to advance the status of women.
The Zonta Club of Charlevoix Area was chartered by the Zonta Club of Petoskey and is part of District 15, Zonta International. The club has 39 members, 8 of which are Charter members. Over the years, the Club has been active in enhancing the status of women internationally and locally. We also support leadership endeavors for women and their education. Financially supporting the Zonta International projects that often are in conjunction with the United Nations Committess that help to improve the lives of women and children worldwide.
The Zonta Club of Charlevoix meets the ideals and mission of Zonta through annual hands-on projects including:
Signts on Success - A good choice workshop for middle school girls.
The Mastectomy Pillow Project - Personal pillows made for breast cancer patients.
Community Information - Programs on Pertinent Women's Issues
.Collecting Needed Items - Provided to the Women's Resource Center and local food pantry.
Washable and reusable menstrual pads.
Mad Hatter Tea Party - Elementary age young women and their "special person" tea.
Participate in MDOT Adopt-A-Highway program.
We also provide four scholarships to help women and girls advance their educational opportunities, and contribute to Zonta International to support international service projects.
